Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone(NHDC) is derived from a natural source, synthesized by neohesperidin, a bitter component of bitter orange, grapefruit, and other citrus fruit peel and pulp.
Its sweetness is about 1500 ~1800 times more than sucrose and 20 times than saccharinItfunctions to mask bitter taste in beverages/juice drinking especially for citrus ki, and enhances the sweetness of other sweeteners.
It hasalready been used to mask bitterness in pharmaceuticals.
