At the beginning of 2017, the Pimax 8K prototype was exposed at the CES exhibition in the United States, breaking the prophecy of the five year period of Abrash, the chief scientist of the Oculus. Pimax 8K uses 2 4K resolution HD display, the overall resolution is 2*3840*2160, and the resolution of VR hardware is further improved on the basis of Pimax 4K. It is also the highest resolution VR head display device at present. At the same time, the Pimax 8K field of view reaches 200 degrees, which is 2 times the market angle of the mainstream VR head in the same market. In addition, the small technology development team has equipped Pimax 8K with location system Pi Tracking which can achieve single beacon coverage of 360 degrees, and a variety of expansion modules including leap motion. In November 4, 2017, Beijing time, Pimax 8K head was supported by 5946 supporters in the United States Kickstarter public platform and successfully raised $4236618.
