Mud Gas Separator
Mud Gas Separator is also called Poor Boy Degasser. It is mainly used to remove the big bubbles with the diameter of about ≥Φ3mm. Most of these bubbles are the expanded gas filled in the drilling fluid in the annular of wellbore, which might cause well kick if not to remove it timely.Drilling fluid with gas goes into the separator and drops along the inner wall. With collision to increase the contact area, it flows downward and becomes a turbulent state which makes gas separate from mud. The free gas goes through the top of vessel and is discharged from the gas outlet. The length of gas export pipe can be determined at the spot.The drilling fluid without gas flows into the following solids control equipment.
