What Is ?
A 4-axis CNC machine operates similarly to a 3-axis machine but includes an additional rotary axis (A-axis), which allows for rotational movement around the X-axis. This extra degree of movement enables the machining of more complex parts without the need for manual repositioning.
How Does 4-Axis CNC Machining Work?
4-axis machining follows a similar workflow as 3-axis machining:
Designing the Part – CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software creates a 3D model of the part.
Generating the Toolpath – CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software determines the machining path.
Setting Up the Machine – The workpiece is clamped onto the machine bed.
Machining Process – The cutting tool moves in X, Y, and Z directions, while the A-axis rotates the workpiece.
