Different Types of Fused Alumina
Brown Fused Alumina
High bulk density, low iron, good crystallization, strong fluidity, low coefficient of linear expansion, corrosion resistance.
White Fused Alumina
High purity, high hardness, low sodium.
Zirconia Fused Alumina
Tenacious texture, dense sturcture, high strength.
Pink Fused Alumina
High toughness, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability.
Black Fused Alumina
Moderate hardness, high toughness, high temperature resistance, stable thermal performance.

Fused Alumina Manufacturing Process
The high quality bauxite is obtained in Shanxi Province and Henan Province as the main raw material to smelt brown fused alumina. The details are as follows:
Requirements for alumina content: Al2O3: 87-88%, the alumina content should not be less than 85%.
Silica content requirements: SiO2 content of bauxite should not exceed 4%, which is basically maintained between 2-3.4%.
Bulk density of high alumina material: bulk density at least 2.3-2.5g/cm3.
Others: CaO+MgO should not be higher than 0.6% or 0.8%, generally the lower the better. Regarding the problem of high CaO content in brown fused alumina, CaO content of the bauxite is required to be as low as possible, or the refining time of brown fused alumina is adjusted to achieve the purpose of reducing impurities.
