Uses of ema monomer
EMA acrylicis a commonly used polymerizable monomer and can be used as an intermediate for adhesives, coatings, fiber treatment agents, molding materials, and also for the manufacture of acrylic copolymers. It can be copolymerized with methyl methacrylate to improve its brittleness. EMA acrylic can also be used to make organic glass, synthetic resin, and molding powder.
EMA liquid is used for preparing polymers, copolymers, synthetic resins, organic glass and coatings.
Storage of ema monomer
EMA is a colorless liquid and easy to volatilize with a spicy smell. It is slightly soluble in water and miscible in alcohol and ether. It should be stored in cool and ventilated warehouses, and be kept away from fire, heat sources, and light. The temperature in warehouses should not exceed 37°C. It should be sealed in packaging and must not come into contact with air.
At room temperature, EMA is a colorless liquid and easy to volatilize with a spicy smell. It is slightly soluble in water and miscible in alcohol and ether. EMA liquid is stored and easily deteriorated due to polymerization, and it is necessary to add a polymerization inhibitor. It is highly flammable and its vapor can form an explosive mixture with air. It is a toxic chemical harmful to human body when inhaled, orally taken or absorbed through the skin. Its vapor or smoke is irritating to the eyes, skin, mucous membranes, and upper respiratory tract. Its poisoning symptoms include a burning sensation, cough, wheezing, shortness of breath, laryngitis, headache, nausea, vomiting, and allergic reactions. It can be used as an intermediate for adhesives, coatings, fiber treatment agents, and molding materials.
R11: EMA liquid is highly flammable.

R43: EMA may cause sensitization by skin contact.
S16: EMA should be kept away from sources of ignition.
