Acrylic Injection Molding
Acrylic is a transparent thermoplastic homopolymer known more commonly by the trade name “plexiglass.”The material is similar to polycarbonate in that it is suitable for use as an impact resistant alternative to glass.
Acrylic in the modern era and in general is used for a variety of applications that typically take advantage of its natural transparency and the impact resistance of certain variants. Common uses include lenses, acrylic nails, paint, security barriers, medical devices, LCD screens, and furniture. Because of its clarity, it is also often used for windows, tanks, and enclosures around exhibits.
Properties of Acrylic Injection Molding

- Arcylic has a lower melting point.
- Arcylic has high light transmittance.
- Arcylic has a glass transition temperature of approximately 105 °C.

Drying Temperature 60-80 °C
Drying Time 4.0-8.0 hr
Suggested Moisture Content < = 0.30
Rear Barrel Temperature 180-220 °C
Middle Barrel Temperature 200-220 °C
Front Barrel Temperature 220-280 °C
Nozzle Temperature 220-280 °C
Mold Temperature 60-100 °C
