Peritoneal dialysis refers to the use of the patient's own peritoneum as a dialysis membrane to filter blood in the abdominal cavity to remove toxins, metabolic wastes and excess water from the body. Icodextrin peritoneal dialysate uses macromolecular dextran as a penetrant, which is not easy to be absorbed by the peritoneum, and can achieve long-term stable ultrafiltration, which is an innovative drug suitable for the prevention and treatment of fluid overload in peritoneal dialysis patients. In addition to the good ultrafiltration effect, the peritoneal dialysate of icodextrin can achieve long-term stable ultrafiltration, and its abdominal retention time can reach 8 to 16 hours, which can effectively reduce the number of peritoneal dialysis per day and improve the quality of life of patients.
