Classification and application of fiber optical components
There are many types of optical fiber passive devices, and the structure is varied. Generally, they are classified according to the functions of the devices.
Fiber optic (cable) connector has a connection function in a fiber optic communication line. In addition to the fixed termination between the optical cables, most of them are single-core or dual-core connectors, which are used for connecting the optical cable to the optical distribution frame (ODF), and connecting the optical distribution frame to the optical transceiver.Optical fiber connectors can be classified into common single-mode and multi-mode connectors of silicon-based fibers according to different transmission media, and other fiber-optic connectors such as plastics.
