Cystine Disodium Salt Powder
Cystine is a conditionally essential amino acid that plays a key role in protein synthesis, glutathione production, and maintaining redox balance in the body. Cystine Disodium Salt’s high water solubility (100–120 g/L at 25 °C) makes it ideal for formulating injectable amino acid solutions and oral nutritional preparations, which are critical for patients with malnutrition, post-operative recovery needs, or gastrointestinal dysfunction that impairs nutrient absorption.
- Injectable formulations: It is added to compound amino acid infusions to ensure sufficient cystine supply for patients who cannot take oral medications, supporting tissue repair and immune function recovery.
- Oral nutritional supplements: It is incorporated into liquid or chewable formulations for populations with high amino acid demands, such as the elderly, athletes, and individuals with chronic diseases, with its weakly alkaline nature (pH 7.5–8.5) reducing gastrointestinal irritation compared to free L-cystine.
