STEEL PIPE COUPLING

Steel pipe couplings, sockets serve to connect straight pipe to straight pipe often in low-pressure systems. They can be manufactured with many kinds of steel, such as carbon, galvanized, stainless, or black. As such, they can be found in a wide array of set-up for water, oil, gas, air, and more.

Many threaded pipes in use with these kinds of lines come with pipe couplings attached. These carbon steel couplings help to protect the threading on the pipe from exposure to the elements. When a couplings is not present on a threaded pipe, it must be welded after being threaded to the pipe. The steel used in pipe couplings is therefore specifically designed tube easier to weld than other couplings. Steel couplings are also absent of casting marks, steams, or bends, and so they have a smooth exterior.
