As the most common LSZH Cable, XLPE refers to cables where the cable jacketing and insulation is made with materials that produce low and or limited smoke and non-toxic halogens when exposed to fire or high temperatures.
Where fire safety is paramount and tight spaces are unavoidable, XLPE wires are utilized. Due to a series of fires in transportation facilities and other sites, XLPE cables came about as a solution to these problems.
