Scratch Resistance Tester
1. Product Function and Application
The Scratch Resistance Tester is designed to evaluate a material’s ability to resist shearing, scratching, gouging, scraping, and engraving.
It is suitable for testing a variety of rigid organic materials, coatings, plastics, glass, and laminated decorative surfaces.
This tester is specifically developed for determining the surface scratch resistance of wood-based panels and decorative laminated panels, in compliance with GB/T17657-1999. It provides reliable and repeatable data, making it ideal for quality inspection agencies, furniture manufacturers, and material research laboratories.
The Taber 551 Scratch Tester allows users to assess the surface performance of coatings and substrates under controlled conditions. It is also suitable for testing adhesives of protective coatings and similar materials to determine their adhesion and surface durability limits.
