Taber Reciprocating Abraser (Wear & Abrasion)

The Reciprocating Abraser includes a counterbalanced arm which pivots on an adjustable height gantry system. The counterweight allows the user to balance the test arm, ensuring precise test load set-up regardless of the weight of the attachment. Incorporated at the end of the arm is a tool holder to which optional attachments and weights may be secured. A sliding specimen platform moves in a horizontal, reciprocating motion under the stationary tool holder.
Reciprocating Abraser is used to determine the scratch resistance and wear resistance for paint, plastic, decorative fabrics, automotive interior, cashmere fabric and others.
Application Features:

At the time of testing, the test sample was fixed on a horizontal sample stage and was worn along with the horizontal movement of the sample stage Under specified abrasives and loads . The other end of the test arm was fitted with a weight to maintain the balance of the test arm to ensure the accuracy of the sample surface load. Abrasive and load rack height is adjustable to suit the testing of different height samples.
Instrument principle:
The tested product is fixed on a horizontal table and is worn under the specified abrasive and load with the horizontal movement of the aquarium. Using the principle of the lever, the other end of the test arm fits the weight to maintain the balance of the test arm to ensure the accuracy of the sample surface load and the reliability of the test results.
