Pharmacological action: Florfenicol belongs to the class of amphenicol antibiotics, which act as bacteriostatic agents by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria through binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome. It exhibits strong antibacterial activity against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Hemophilus parasuis, Pasteurella multocida, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae are highly sensitive to florfenicol. In vitro, florfenicol has similar or stronger antibacterial activity against many microorganisms as thiamphenicol, and some bacteria resistant to amphenicols due to acetylation, such as Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae, may still be sensitive to florfenicol.
Indications: Shengxuelefeng is primarily used to treat bacterial diseases in pigs, chickens, and fish caused by susceptible bacteria, such as respiratory diseases caused by Hemophilus parasuis, Pasteurella multocida, and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in cattle and pigs. It is also effective against Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi causing typhoid fever, as well as chicken cholera, chicken dysentery, and E. coli disease. In fish, it can treat bacterial septicemia, enteritis, and red skin disease caused by bacteria such as Pasteurella multocida, Vibrio spp., Staphylococcus aureus, Aeromonas hydrophila, and Aeromonas salmonicida.
Action and uses: Shengxuelefeng is an amphenicol antibiotic used to treat infections caused by Hemophilus parasuis and Escherichia coli.
