Titanium carbide rods - special for metal cutting
Titanium carbide round rods made of cemented carbide are high-performance components fabricated through a powder metallurgy process, with titanium carbide serving as the primary hard phase and cobalt or nickel as the binder phase. These rods exhibit exceptional hardness exceeding HRC85 and superior wear resistance compared to conventional steel. They maintain stable mechanical properties even in high-temperature environments above 500 °C. Characterized by extremely high dimensional accuracy, the diameter tolerance can be controlled within ±0.01 mm, and surface roughness can reach as low as Ra 0.02 μm, making them ideal for manufacturing precision cutting tools and mold cores. Tools produced from this material demonstrate a service life 10 to 20 times longer than those made of high-speed steel when machining difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloys, thereby significantly enhancing production efficiency. The oxidation resistance of these rods can withstand temperatures up to 800 °C, minimizing oxidative wear during high-temperature cutting operations and rendering them suitable for processing high-temperature alloys. Furthermore, after mirror finishing, the surface achieves a coefficient of friction as low as 0.1, effectively reducing frictional resistance with workpieces and lowering energy consumption during machining. In the textile industry, these rods are widely employed in the fabrication of wear-resistant guide rods, ensuring that yarn remains unscratched during high-speed operation and contributing to improved textile quality.
