Impact-resistant, non-fracturable titanium carbide alloy rods
This titanium carbonitride (TiCN) round rod is fabricated via hot-pressing and subsequent sintering of high-purity (≥99.5 wt%) titanium carbonitride powder. Available diameters range from 5 to 100 mm, with customizable lengths between 50 and 1000 mm. The material exhibits a Rockwell hardness exceeding HRA 92, a theoretical density of 6.68 g/cm³, and outstanding functional properties—including exceptional wear resistance, thermal stability up to 1600 °C, and robust corrosion resistance. The rod surface undergoes precision grinding to achieve dimensional tolerances of ±0.01 mm, straightness ≤ 0.02 mm/m, and a fully dense microstructure free of porosity. Fracture toughness is ≥ 6.0 MPa·m¹/². Primary applications include blanks for cemented carbide cutting tools, mechanical seal faces, mining drill bits, and high-temperature structural components. The rod may be employed either as a near-net-shape component amenable to direct machining or as a reinforcement phase in advanced metal- or ceramic-matrix composites. Service life is typically 5–8 times longer than that of conventional metallic rods under comparable operating conditions. Dimensional specifications, geometric tolerances, and surface treatments (e.g., polishing, coating) are available per customer requirements. All units are vacuum-packaged to ensure integrity during transit, thereby delivering reliable, high-performance core components for precision equipment manufacturing.
