Test Principle
The Leakage Current / Tracking Tester applies voltage across the surface of solid insulating materials while dripping a defined concentration of liquid (e.g., NH4Cl solution) between electrodes. The combination of electric field, voltage, current, and droplet count simulates surface tracking and erosion phenomena. The tester measures tracking onset time and damage depth, evaluating the material’s durability and safety in humid electrical environments.
Test Procedure
Prepare Specimens: Clean specimens and fix securely in the holder.
Set Test Parameters: Use touch screen to set voltage, current, droplet time, and droplet count according to standards.
Start Testing: Click “Start”; device begins voltage application and droplet delivery.
Monitor Test: Data including voltage, current, and droplet count is automatically recorded.
Complete Test: Upon completion, the device stops voltage, retracts mechanisms, and saves results for analysis.
