EN is European Norm. According to the common obligations undertaken by the participating countries, the adoption of this EN standard will give legal status to the relevant national standards of a member state, or revoke the relevant standards of a certain country that is opposed to it. Its purpose is to harmonize the electrical standards promulgated by the relevant European countries' standards bodies and to eliminate technical barriers to trade.

Difference between EN 14399-3 and EN 14399-4
Both en iso 14399-3 nuts and EN 14399-4 nuts are high-strength nuts and bolts for preloading. BS EN 14399-3 structural nuts are used for part 3 which belongs to system HR. EN ISO 14399-4 structural nuts are used for part 4 which belongs to system HV.
