STANDARD FIBER OPTICAL CERAMIC FERRULE
What is a ceramic ferrule?
Ferrule plays a significant role in Fiber Connectors as well as Fiber Patchcord. With the characteristics of low insertion loss required for optical transmission, a low value in elasticity coefficient, excellent strength and high resistance to changeable environments, the ceramic ferrule is usually used in optical connectors.
Having the high durability and the highest levels of dimensional control, these kinds of optical fiber ferrules are available to all fiber applications designated in TIA/EIA-568-B.1 cabling architecture standards. Ceramic ferrule, which is essentially zirconia materials, owns brilliant control over the size. This kind of fiber optic ferrulesenables efficient polishing with greater repeatable geometry and a finer surface finish. Proper fiber alignment in zirconia ceramic ferrules is assured through state-of-the-art precision molding/machining of the ferrule ceramic to ensure full contact of fiber ends.

Standard Ferrules
Standard ferrules are typically used as sub-components within fiber optic connectors, but can also be integrated into various specialized applications. They are made of zirconia ceramic, which offers the highest performance and durability of all ferrule material types. All Standard Ferrules are precision manufactured according to strict quality standards.
Non-standard Ferrules
Non-standard ferrules are designed to meet unique requirements for a wide range of applications, including medical, military, or scientific integration. Non-standard ferrules are also made of zirconia ceramics, with inside diameters from 80 microns to 750 microns, in lengths from 2.0mm to 14.5mm, and with features such as multi-step, countersinks, flats, slots, grooves, and chamfers.
