Taber oscillation and wear instrumentis used to test the transparency of materials and coatings on glass, lenses, and to evaluate the abrasion resistance of organic coatings, plastics, metals and other materials.

Taber oscillation and wear instrumentis also commonly referred to as "sand oscillator".It is primarily used to test the properties of transparent materials and coatings coated on glass and lenses, and it can also be used to evaluate the abrasion resistance of organic coatings, plastics, metals and other materials
The sample is fixed in the fixed fixture at the bottom of the sand table and the surface of the sample is exposed to a height of no more than 1 mm.Place a uniform depth of standard abrasive media such as quartz sand or alumina in the sand table

Taber oscillation and wear instrumentbasic operation:
