Cleanable Filter Media Test System,ISO 12103 Cleanable Filter Media Test System
The Cleanable Filter Media Test System is designed for characterizing cleanable filter media according to VDI 3926-2. It evaluates filtration performance, dust loading capacity, and separation efficiency of filter materials. The system is compact and suitable for laboratory use, supporting standardised testing for development, optimisation, and quality assurance of filter media.
Application
This system is used for:
Cleanable Filter Media: Testing in accordance with VDI 3926-2.
Filter Material Development: Optimization of new filter media and configurations.
Fractional Separation Efficiency Testing: Determining particle size-dependent filtration efficiency.
Dust Loading Evaluation: Measuring the dust holding capacity of filter media.
Standard-Based Testing: Applicable for ISO 16890. EN 779. ISO/TS 11155-1. DIN 71460-1. and ISO 5011 for small-scale laboratory tests.
Quality Assurance: Monitoring filter performance during production.
Standards
The system complies with:
(1) VDI 3926-2 – Test guideline for cleanable filter media.
(2) ASTM D6830-02 – Laboratory scale air filter test method.
(3) ISO 12103-1 – Standard test dust for filter efficiency evaluation.
(4) ISO 5011 – Air filter testing for engines and machinery.

Accessories
| Accessory | Description |
|---|---|
| Atomizer Aerosol Generator | Generates fine aerosol for filtration testing |
| Solid Materials Disperser | Produces solid aerosol particles for standardised tests |
| Aerosol Dilution System | Dilutes aerosols to desired concentration |
| Aerosol Spectrometer | Measures particle size distribution and filtration efficiency |
Test Principle
The system draws controlled airflow through filter media while applying standardized aerosol particles (solid or droplet). Differential pressure, fractional efficiency, and dust loading are continuously measured. Data acquisition provides detailed insight into the filtration performance and operational characteristics of the media under laboratory conditions.
Operation Instructions
Safety:
Ensure electrical connections are properly installed.
Maintain laboratory ventilation when using aerosols.
Operators should wear gloves and safety goggles during aerosol handling.
Setup:
Mount the filter media securely on the test platform.
Select aerosol type and configure airflow and pressure pulse parameters.
Verify sensors and calibration before starting the test.
Testing:
Start automated test sequence.
System injects aerosol, measures differential pressure, and records filtration efficiency and dust loading.
Data is logged automatically for analysis.
Post-Test:
Review differential pressure curves, fractional efficiency, and dust loading capacity.
Export reports for quality control and research documentation.
Maintenance Information
Regularly clean aerosol generators and dispersers.
Calibrate pressure sensors periodically.
Inspect control software and data acquisition systems for updates.
Maintain system cleanliness to prevent contamination.
