The Fabric Fiber Shedding Degree Tester (Friction) is an instrument used to evaluate the light-blocking performance of fabrics and is widely used in the textile industry. It calculates the light-blocking rate by simulating different light intensities and measuring the illuminance value of light passing through the fabric. The tester has an accuracy of up to +5% and is suitable for various types of fabrics, including sheet textiles and coated fabrics.

The Fabric Fiber Shedding Degree Tester (Friction) is suitable for sheet textile products such as curtain materials. It is used to measure the total visible light transmittance of the fabric to evaluate its light-blocking performance.

Features

Test Procedures

1. Sample Fixation

Lay the sample to be tested flat and fix it to the sample holder of the instrument using a pneumatic clamp.

2. Abrasive Treatment

Use the calender provided with the instrument to adjust the abrasive moisture content (roller speed can be adjusted) to obtain moistened abrasive.

3. Abrasive Installation

Install the treated moistened abrasive onto the friction head.

4. Parameter Setting

Set the required load, number of friction cycles, and friction stroke via the touch screen (or spare mechanical buttons).

5. Test Start

Start the instrument and allow the friction head to perform a set number of reciprocating friction cycles on the sample surface with the abrasive.

6. Result Evaluation

After the test, compare the fibers adhering to the abrasive with the standard sample to visually evaluate the degree of fiber adhesion, thereby characterizing the fiber shedding rate of the sample.
