Znse Plano Concave
Plano-Convex (PCX) Lenses have very low dispersion and can be used for transmission range from 600 nm to 16 μm. The Zinc Selenide is often used in thermal imaging processes, FLIR, and medical systems, or in high power CO2 laser systems, due to its very low absorption coefficient, and also due to high thermal shock resistance. However, Zinc Selenide is a soft material in general, easily damaged, yet very toxic, therefore, use in harsh environments is not recommendable. (Knoop Hardness 120). Applying of uniform pressure is required, as well as use of Latex finger gloves, ensuring protection from contamination. The #66-123 kit has nine uncoated 25.4 mm diameter Zinc Selenide PCX lenses.
