The hard alloy guide wheel is made of titanium carbide

This type of guide wheel can be customized with various groove profiles tailored to the specific dimensions and types of wire or pipe, including V-shaped, U-shaped, and semi-circular configurations, thereby meeting diverse production requirements. Following precision polishing, the surface roughness can reach as low as Ra0.01 μm, significantly reducing friction-induced damage to the wire and increasing the tensile strength of metallic wires by approximately 10%. In automotive brake cable manufacturing, the consistent guidance provided by these guide wheels ensures uniform tension distribution, effectively minimizing the risk of in-service failure. Compared to ceramic guide wheels, this type exhibits superior toughness and is more resistant to fracture caused by minor mechanical impacts, resulting in reduced replacement frequency. The service life of these guide wheels is typically 2 to 3 times longer than that of their ceramic counterparts. In steel cord production, a single set of these guide wheels can process over 1,000 tons of cord material, whereas ceramic guide wheels are limited to 300–500 tons. Owing to their favorable cost-performance ratio, these guide wheels have been widely adopted in the tire industry, contributing to enhanced wear resistance and improved tire safety.
