When the titanium carbide content is relatively high, it has stronger wear resistance and is suitable for rough processing scenarios. An increase in the proportion of the binder enhances the toughness and makes it more suitable for fine processing. Its density is only 6.5g/cm³, which is 20% lighter than tungsten carbide rods of the same size, making it suitable for making lightweight tools. In the 3C electronics industry, it is often used to process precision parts such as mobile frames and laptop shells, ensuring that the product surface is free of scratches and has small dimensional errors. With the development of 3D printing technology, hard alloy titanium carbide round rods have also been made into powder for 3D printing precision parts. The density of the printed parts can reach 99.5% of the theoretical density, and their performance is comparable to that of traditional sintered parts. It is used as a silicon wafer cutting tool in the photovoltaic industry, which can ensure that the thickness error of the silicon wafer is controlled within ±1μm and improve the conversion efficiency of solar cells. This versatility makes it an indispensable material in the high-end manufacturing field.
