Converter refractories BOF refractory Slag Limiting Ball Slag Arrester
During the tapping process of the Converter, the molten steel level will decrease gradually. When it reaches a critical value, swirls will emerge in the upper area of tapping hole, which can easily draw the slag into the ladle. When the slag limiting ball is put into swirls, the ball will float in the upper area of tapping hole, thus the slag can be prevented from flowing into the ladle. The molten liquid steel will flow out from the gap between the limiting balls and tapping hole, so as to decrease total flowing slag amount.
