The influence of binder mainly includes the influence of binder type and content, and so on.
(1) The common characteristic of all kinds of resin bond diamond powder tools is poor heat resistance. In the process of processing workpiece, the heat generated between the diamond tools and workpiece easily causes the part temperature to be too high. Once the critical value is reached, the control of resin bond to the diamond will fail, and the diamond will fall off without complete grinding bluntness, thus greatly increasing the processing cost. At present, it is mainly improving its heat resistance through modifying the resin binder. Gao Liangshi uses phenolic resin modified by square alkyl ether, and its heat resistance can reach 180℃.
(2) The influence of resin bind content. The content of resin binder has a great influence on the processing performance of diamond tools. The paper introduces that in the single crystal silicon wafer thin grinding wheel, the resin binder content increases, the hardness and compressive strength of the grinding wheel increases gradually. When the resin binder content increases to a certain extent, the grinding wheel wear ratio increases slowly. At the same time, the surface of the grinding wheel is prone to clogging. The higher the resin binder content is, the more serious the clogging phenomenon is.
(3) The influence of the size of resin binder. The particle size of resin powder used for diamond abrasive tools in China is mostly between 80 mesh and 180 mesh. There are two defects in this particle size range. One is that it affects the compaction formability of abrasive tools, and the other is that it may affect the properties of bonds. In the process of pressing, although resin powder can be softened by heat and has a certain fluidity to achieve the purpose of coating abrasive particles, the binder is pressed in the mould in the process of pressing, and the space is limited, and the flow range of resin is limited. When the particle size of resin powder is coarse, some abrasive bonds are not firm, so it falls off too quickly.
