Product FeaturesThe plastic polyethylene (PE) was discovered in 1898 by the chemist Hans von Pechmann, but it was not until 1940 that an economically profitable manufacturing process could be developed. PE has low strength, hardness and stiffness, but relatively high ductility and impact strength. PE is easy to form, making it versatile and indispensable in everyday life. PE disposable gloves are made of high-quality polyethylene, are skin-friendly, odourless, tasteless and very inexpensive. PE gloves are available in different qualities. LDPE means that the PE material is of low density, i.e. soft and particularly flexible. MDPE has a medium density and is extremely tear and puncture resistant. HDPE has a very high density but is also a very stiff material. HDPE gloves are therefore very stiff but abrasion-resistant. Disposable PE gloves are food safe, oil and grease resistant. Fit and tactile sensitivity are very limited and therefore these gloves can only be used to a limited extent.
