The shape of the TCI Bits teeth is designed according to the formation conditions. In general,the sharp and long teeth are suitable for soft formations, and the short and blunt teeth are suitable for hard formations.
Proper Use Of TCI Bits: The Effect Of Rotational Speed On Drilling
Rotational speed indicates the speed of rotation of the drill bit with a certain diameter, and is the target for measuring the reversal speed in the drilling process. When drilling, the rock breaking conditions of different hardness rocks are different, and the impact of drilling pressure on them is also different. Therefore, the influence of drilling speed on the rock breaking process and mechanical drilling speed should be considered in terms of lithology and rock breaking time. For different rocks, the drilling speed has a certain change curve and limit speed as the speed increases. When drilling in clay rocks, the drilling speed increases proportionally with the rotational speed; when drilling in solid and highly abrasive rocks, the drilling speed increases relatively slowly with the rotational speed, because the rock-breaking time is extended, the limit rotational speed is smaller than other types of rocks, and when the rotational speed exceeds the limit rotational speed, the drilling speed will be reduced.
In practice, the speed increase is limited by the strength and length of the drill pipe column, the function of the drill bit and the capacity of the drilling equipment. In the present period, with the development of small borehole drilling technology, and the improvement of the operating conditions of the drill pipe column in the well, and the study of the use of leading lubricants to reduce the reversal wear resistance, the high speed will be fully used.
