ardenafil (INN) is a PDE5 inhibitor used for treating erectile dysfunction. Vardenafil's indications and contra-indications are the same as with other PDE5 inhibitors; it is closely related in function to Sildenafil citrate (Viagra) and Tadalafil (Cialis). The difference between the Vardenafil molecule and Sildenafil citrate is that a nitrogen atom has different position and the change of Sildenafil's piperazine ring methyl group to an ethyl group. Vardenafil is an oral drug that is used to treat impotence, the inability to attain or maintain a penile erection. Vardenafil prevents an enzyme called phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) from destroying cGMP so that cGMP persists longer. The longer cGMP persists, the more prolonged the engorgement of the penis. Vardenafil was approved by the FDA in August 2003.
Effects of Levitra:
The effects of Levitra are very straightforward, remedying erectile dysfunction in men who have a blood flow issue. Levitra will not remedy a libido issue. If libido is the issue the individual may need to have his hormone levels checked.
