PRODUCT DESCRIBE:
TheAllen-Bradley1746-A10 is a modular chassis used with the SLC 500 system. The1746-A10has 10 slots for mounting tabs. Its modular nature helps to configure the system depending on its size. Users can shrink or expand the system. To expand the module slots to 30 slots, use the chassis interconnect cables to interconnect with other chassis. The Input/Output adapter or the processor are placed on the left most slot in the 3-chassis group. The1746-A10has 6 mounting compartments. When installing the1746-A10, make sure to provide for enough grounding. For grounding, use the grounding bus.
The grounding cable should be 14 AWG in size. When connecting to the ground bus, use a 10 AWG copper wire to connect each chassis and use a steel enclosure to prevent EMI interference. To minimize the dependence on the viewing window hinges for the electrical contact between the door and the enclosure, install a dedicated bonding wire. The grounding electrode used with the1746-A10should have a minimum of 8 AWG copper wire size.
