Microcrystalline wax as rust inhibitor

Microcrystalline wax is indeed one of the key ingredients in rust inhibitors. Thanks to its excellent chemical inertness and physical barrier properties, it provides long-lasting, reliable rust protection for metals.

Physical Barrier: It forms a dense, continuous, and flexible wax film on the metal surface. This film acts as a robust barrier, effectively isolating moisture, salts, oxygen, and corrosive chemicals, preventing them from coming into contact with the metal.

Chemical Stability: Microcrystalline wax is chemically very stable and does not readily react with other substances at room temperature. Its composition consists primarily of C31–70 branched saturated hydrocarbons, a structure that gives it outstanding inertness.
