The Difference Between Progressive Elevator Safety Gear And Instantaneous Elevator Safety Gear

There are two types of elevator safety gear: instantaneous safety gear and progressive safety gear. Among these two elevator safety components, the stopping distance of the instantaneous safety gear is relatively short, generally only a few centimeters to tens of centimeters. If the rated running speed of the elevator is relatively fast, the damage to the guide rail during braking and stopping is also relatively large, Therefore, the instantaneous safety gear is generally used on the low-speed elevator with the rated running speed V≤0.63 m/s. However, the braking process of the progressive safety gear is relatively gentle, and the damage to the guide rail is relatively small when braking and stopping, but the braking distance is relatively long and the structure is more complicated, which is mostly suitable for various elevators with rated running speed V≥1.0 m/s.
