The Ultra Grip Performance is Goodyear's European-inspired Performance Winter tire developed for the drivers of sport cars, coupes and sedans who don't want to abandon performance in winter. Ultra Grip Performance tires are designed to enhance traction and control in snow, slush and on ice while maintaining traction and handling in cold temperatures when roads stay dry and clear. The Ultra Grip Performance benefits from Goodyear's advanced polymer technology that provides a winter tread compound with a unique surface texture. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread pattern that features shoulder stabilizers to enhance control on dry roads, while its asymmetrical center zone provides traction on slippery surfaces. The tread design uses three-dimensional TredLock Technology sipes that lock together to enhance dry and wet road handling while providing the biting edges needed to grip packed snow and ice without resorting to traditional metal studs. The tire's internal structure uses twin steel belts reinforced by spirally wrapped polyamide on top of a polyester carcass to combine highway durability with a smooth ride. All Ultra Grip Performance tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the mountain/snowflake symbol. Ultra Grip Performance tires feature winter wear indicators to identify when the remaining tread depth remains suitable to provide beneficial snow performance. Install Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance tires in sets of four only. Due to the traction capabilities of the Ultra Grip Performance tires, Goodyear recommends using Ultra Grip Performance tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
