Project Management
Project management is a crucial element in the success of developing a product. The Project Manager (PM) is the single point of contact for customers and design centers. They must possess a broad knowledge of Topscom and a variety of technical skills including:A deep knowledge of the product development cycleStrong organization and communications skillsAbility to manage budgets and schedules across multiple design sitesMaintain integrity and control over the project timeline and budgetUnderstand and communicate the goals of the product and the needs of the customerThe PM explores alternative approaches, performs risk analysis and sets contingency plans early in the process. When assessing and assigning resources for the project, Topscom Project Managers take advantage of our global development expertise. The Project Manager works with Product Introduction Centers, purchasing, and test to ensure smooth transfer to production.Status reports include a review of the previous weeks major activities, critical open issues, ECR/ECO status, detailed status from each discipline, upcoming milestones and schedule and budget metrics. Communication between both internal and external design team members is performed through a variety of mechanisms:A secure, password-protected siteConference callsWeb-based teleconferencing and shared desktop3D collaborative viewing and editing tools On-site meetings
