At room temperature, this is in the form of a pale-yellow to yellow granular solid. It has a sorbitan monostearate HLB value of 4.7. It has extensive uses such as, keeps moisture of yeasts; enhances oil-water dispersion stability; emulsifies and stabilizes in cosmetic, pharmaceutical, feeds, coating, textile formulations.
