| Applications |
Widely used in spectral analysis and infrared transmission. Also used as a laboratory reagent and for removing peripheral membrane proteins. In medicine, it is used to treat conditions such as neurasthenia, hysteria, nervous insomnia, and mental excitement. |
| Medicinal Usage |
Taken orally, usually as a 10% solution. Should not be taken on an empty stomach. Long-term use may lead to bromide poisoning, with early symptoms including skin rashes (bromide acne), memory loss, and depression. |
