Pharmacological action:
Tetracycline antibiotics. Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride can reversibly combine with the receptor on the 30S subunit of bacterial ribosome, interfere with the formation of ribosomal complex between tRNA and mRNA, inhibit peptide chain elongation and protein synthesis, thus rapidly inhibiting bacterial growth and reproduction. Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride has inhibitory effect on both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. There is cross-resistance between Oxytetracycline Hydrochloride and Doxycycline.
Indications and usage: Tetracycline antibiotics. Used to treat infectious diseases caused by sensitive Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, and mycoplasma in pigs and chickens.
