Angular contact ball bearings are also called angular contact radial thrust ball bearings. Angular ball bearings are particularly suitable for carrying axial load in one direction together with radial load, or accommodate axial loads in one direction only. Because of their design, when axial load is applied, an axial force component is produced; two opposed bearings or a combination of more than two must be used. The axial load carrying capacity of angular contact ball bearings changes along with contact angle. The larger the contact angle, the better the axial load carrying capacity is. Angular contact ball bearings are mainly used in machine spindle, gearbox, reducer and supercharger etc.
