Application of PTFE Bellow Mechanical Seal

The mechanical seal of the PTFE bellow seal, which adopts the multi-spring structure, is the most widely used mechanical seal in the corrosion resistant pump.

• Temperature: -10 C ~+100 C
• Pressure: less than 0.5MPa

• Suitable medium: strong acid, strong oxidizing agent and other strong corrosive media.

Performance of the Welded PTFE Bellow Seals

1. High-temperature resistance: PTFE bellows for pump has little affected by the temperature,, the range of temperature range is wide, can be used at -190~260 C.
2. Low-temperature resistance: with good mechanical toughness, even if the temperature drops to -196 C, PTFE seal can also maintain 5% elongation.
3. Insulation: PTFE mechanical seal not affected by the environment and frequency, the volume resistance can reach 1018 ohm/cm, the dielectric loss is small, and the breakdown voltage is high.
4. High lubrication: the friction coefficient of the solid material is the lowest; the known solid material can not adhere to the surface, and it is a kind of solid mechanical seal with the smallest surface.
5. Strong self - moistening: the friction coefficient of the solid material is 0.04 with the smallest coefficient of friction in plastic. PTFE bellows seal design is an ideal oil free lubricating seal.
6. No poison: physical inertia, seals can be used in the vast majority of the pump body; aging resistance can be used in the atmosphere for a long time;
7. Pollution prevention: the blank value of metal elements is very low, the content of lead is less than 10-11 g/ml, and the content of uranium is less than 10-12 g/ml.
8. Resistance to atmospheric aging, radiation resistance and low permeability: even though the PTFE seal is long exposure to the atmosphere, the surface and performance remain unchanged.
9. Chemical corrosion resistance and weatherability: PTFE bellow seal is hardly corroded by any chemical reagent except for molten alkali metals. For example, in concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, even in the aqua boil, no change in the weight and performance, almost insoluble in all solvents, only more than 300 DEG C slightly soluble in the alkane (about 0.1g/100g). PTFE Bellow seal does not absorb moisture, does not flammable, and is very stable to oxygen and ultraviolet light, so it has excellent weatherability.
