Antimicrobial Alginate Dressing
Silver Alginate Dressing: Alginate fiber impregnated with silver ions has broad spectrum antimicrobial properties that are effective against a wide range of micro organisms including MRSA and VRE. The silver ions are released in the presence of wound exudate within the dressing which aganist bacteria up to 99.99% for 7 days ( in vitro testing). The silver alginate fibres form a gel allows intact removal when in contact with exudate and maintaining an ideal moist wound healing environment.
