Pharmacological Action:
This product belongs to the tetracycline class of drugs, which primarily inhibits the protein synthesis of susceptible microorganisms. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum, inhibiting Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, spirochetes, rickettsiae, mycoplasmas, chlamydiae, and some protozoa. Chlortetracycline mainly binds to the A site of the 30S subunit of microorganisms, thereby interfering with the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the 30S subunit and preventing it from entering the acceptor site on the mRNA, inhibiting the elongation of the peptide chain during protein synthesis; Chlortetracycline can also prevent the release of the synthesized protein peptide chain.
Indications and Usage: Used to treat post-weaning piglet diarrhea, pig asthma, and proliferative enteritis.
