Main Uses
The catheter cuff inflated diameter tester is mainly used to measure the diameter of the cuffs of medical devices such as endotracheal tubes and tracheostomy tubes after inflation.
This measurement is crucial for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of medical devices during use. By accurately measuring the inflated diameter of the cuff, it can help medical staff determine the appropriate amount of inflation.
This aims to effectively seal the airway, prevent gas leakage and the aspiration of secretions into the airway, while also avoiding excessive pressure on the tracheal wall.
In addition, this tester also helps to reduce complications such as tracheal mucosal injury, ischemia, and necrosis caused by excessive cuff pressure, improving the safety and effectiveness of endotracheal intubation.

The technical parameters of the catheter cuff inflated diameter tester may vary depending on the model and brand, but the following are some common parameter ranges:
Testing Range: Usually, it can cover a pressure range of 0 - 10 kPa or 0 - 1.45 psi to meet the inflation requirements of different cuffs. Accuracy: The tester usually has a high accuracy, such as 0.5%FS (full - scale error), to ensure the accuracy of test results.
Air Source Pressure: The air source pressure required by the tester generally does not exceed 0.7 MPa, and the user needs to provide the air source. Air Source Interface: Usually, a Φ8 mm polyurethane tube is used as the air source interface for easy connection to air source equipment.
External Dimensions: The main unit and device of the tester usually have a compact design for easy portability and placement. For example, the dimensions of the main unit may be 300 mm(L)×410 mm(W)×150 mm(H), and the dimensions of the device may be 215 mm(L)×215 mm(W)×240 mm(H).
Weight: The weight of the tester is usually moderate, about 25kg, for easy handling and operation.
Testing Principle: The tester usually adopts the positive - pressure testing principle. It inflates the cuff with a certain amount of air to make it stretch and unfold the wrinkles while minimizing the tension on the cuff wall, and then measures its inflated diameter.
