In tradition, it often uses slag stopping ball to stop slag. As the stopping ball get to the tap hole along with molten steel as well as the high steel slag viscosity, it can’t reach the tap hole most time or can’t block the tap hole effectively when the molten steel drains away. So the efficiency of the slag stopping ball is less than 70%. However, using cone stopper plug can achieve the efficiency of 96% with slag thickness less than 20mm. It greatly lower the consumption of energy, reduce the lost of the molten steel temperature and improve the safety of steel making.Features
