Titanium carbide rod precision instrument accessories

Titanium carbide round rods made of cemented carbide are high-performance materials fabricated through powder metallurgy processes. These rods primarily consist of titanium carbide as the hard phase and cobalt or nickel as the binder phase. With a hardness exceeding HRC85, their wear resistance significantly surpasses that of conventional steel. Moreover, they maintain stable mechanical properties even under high-temperature conditions above 500°C. These round rods exhibit exceptional dimensional accuracy, with diameter tolerances controlled within ±0.01 mm and surface roughness as low as Ra 0.02 μm. They are particularly suitable for the manufacture of precision cutting tools and mold cores. When used to machine difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloys, tools made from these rods demonstrate a service life 10 to 20 times longer than that of high-speed steel tools, thereby substantially improving production efficiency. Additionally, titanium carbide round rods exhibit excellent anti-adhesion properties. When machining sticky materials such as aluminum and copper alloys, the likelihood of "built-up edge" formation is significantly reduced, ensuring a smooth surface finish. Their performance can be further enhanced through surface coating treatments, such as TiAlN coatings, which improve wear and oxidation resistance, extending tool life by more than 50%. In the medical device industry, these rods are commonly used to fabricate orthopedic surgical instruments, which not only maintain sharpness but also withstand high-temperature sterilization without deformation.
