Solubility: soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in cold water, brown-yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid, bright green to blue after dilution, and brown flocculent precipitation in aqueous solution plus sodium hydroxide.

The pigment gives pure red light and blue, with high color brightness, forming a lake in the form of PTMA. The trade name of the pigment in China is light resistant blue original R or 2R. It is mainly used for special printing inks, such as publishing ink, nitrocellulose-based packaging ink, wallpaper, printer ribbon, and paper coloring.
