ELEVATOR OVERSPEED GOVERNOR
The overspeed governor in elevator is the heart of any elevator safety system. Bidirectional Overspeed Governor
The bidirectional overspeed governor can prevent the elevator from falling or hitting the top, and it is safer.
The elevator overspeed governor is of the centrifugal type and is able to work either upwards or downwards. As one of important elevator safety components, the elevator overspeed governor is fixed directly to the floor in the machine room or in the upper part of the hoistway, joined by the rope to its tension device located in the pit. This tension device is attached to the guide pulley by flanges.
The rope passes through the groove of the governor and the tensing pulley. The ends of the rope are attached to the elevator safety gear. Thus, when the car reaches its tripping speed, the safety gear will interact with over speed governorin lift and stop elevator car.
Inspection Of Each Component Of The Overspeed Governor
Pulleys, switches, brackets are all important components of any safety system. The system will only function as expected when all parts are matched to each other and in proper working order. Each of these components has its own characteristics that must be checked.
Overspeed Governor Wire Rope
The overspeed governor wire rope will be damaged or even broken after a long time of use. Once a problem is found, it needs to be replaced immediately.
Tensioning Device
The overspeed governor is not a separate accessory, it needs to work in coordination with the tensioning device. Therefore, it is also necessary to check the condition of tensioning device.
