EVOH BARRIER MAP TRAYS AND CUPS

MAP TRAY (Modified Atmosphere Packaging), just as its name implies, refers to the technology that artificially controls the proportion of gases (oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen etc.) in the package with the aim of achieving keeping-freshness storage. It is made from a high-barrier multilayer composite plastic. It’s the EVOH layer inside that works as a barrier preventing the ambient gases penetrating from the outside. That’s how MAP tray achieves extending the shelf life. And the thickness of EVOH layer contributes to the length of the shelf life. Moreover, the addition of barrier lidding film makes map tray a self-contained BARRIER unit.

In a closed system, the proportion of ambient gases is modified to the condition which can reduce respiration and lessen the consumption of nutrients. To restrain cells’ respiration and retard the process of metabolism, however, make cells in a dormant state rather death. And whenever cells leave the modified atmosphere, they’ll still keep their normal pace of metabolism without other side effects. Of course, all these are on the premise of low temperature.

It can be used for meat, rice, seafood, fruit, and vegetable etc. packaging. However, different food, due to its different property, will require different gas proportion to keep them fresh.

It is microwavable, and can be stored in minus degree if needed.
