High-Sensitivity Thermal Offset Printing Plate for Offset Press
Thermal offset printing plates are CTP plate materials manufactured using thermal imaging technology. They are typically made from high-quality aluminum substrates, which undergo electrochemical graining to create a uniform roughened surface, followed by anodizing and special coating treatment. This provides excellent photosensitivity and printing adaptability.
Unlike conventional UV-exposure offset plates, thermal CTP plates use laser-generated heat to act directly on the heat-sensitive coating on the plate surface. The coating undergoes physical or chemical changes to form the image and non-image areas.
These products are suitable for sheet-fed offset presses, commercial web offset presses, and certain packaging printing equipment. They can meet the requirements of text, line work, solid areas, gradient patterns, and high-definition halftone images.

The plate supports 1%–99% dot reproduction and 240 lpi AM screening, and can even achieve 20-micron FM screening. It delivers excellent reproduction of fine text and high-fidelity images.
3. Excellent Run Length for Both Short and Long Print Runs
The plate combines high run length with cost-effectiveness. Unbaked plates can achieve a run length of more than 100,000 impressions, while baked plates can reach more than 300,000 impressions. Premium double-layer coated products can achieve 400,000 to 600,000 impressions, greatly reducing plate replacement frequency and plate consumption.
4. Daylight Handling for an Improved Working Environment
No complicated darkroom installation is required. Plate operators can load plates, expose, and process them under normal lighting conditions. The plate has high tolerance to ambient light, reducing workshop space and equipment investment while making the production process more convenient, safe, and controllable.
5. Rapid Ink-Water Balance and Reduced Start-Up Waste
The plate substrate is treated with electrochemical multi-layer graining and anodizing, creating clearly defined hydrophilic and oleophilic areas. After mounting on the press, the plate quickly reaches ink-water balance, enables faster color matching, and achieves stable printing performance. This significantly reduces make-ready time and minimizes paper and ink waste.
